108 for the 1 in 8: Yoga for BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

1 - in - 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. On October 25, we’ll gather at Brentwood Park in Central Austin for a meaningful yoga event hosted by The Retreat and the team behind 108 for the 1 in 8. Together, we’ll honor these women through an outdoor practice of 108 sun salutations, guided by Retreat Yoga Teachers and set to smooth live beats from DJ MIDI Marc.

In yoga, the number 108 represents spiritual wholeness and connection. Moving and breathing together in this sequence becomes a powerful way to stand with those impacted by breast cancer. 108 is a big number, and sun salutations can be a worthy challenge. But this practice is about intention, not perfection. Do as many or as few as you’d like. Arrive anytime, pause when you need to, and know that modifications will be offered. No prior yoga experience is necessary. Simply moving with others in community is a gift to yourself and to the women we honor.

The event is free, but we invite you to help us reach our fundraising goal of $10,800 - a number as symbolic as it is ambitious. Every dollar supports the Susan G. Komen Foundation in advancing awareness, prevention, critical research, and direct support for patients and families.

Let’s move, give, and stand together for a future without breast cancer.
